super duper good follow up to their first record, which is a modern death doom classic, here they went in a bit of a different and more ambitious direction joshuassites

Just a strong start here on Void Rot's debut EP. In the same vein of Blood Incantation and Anhedonist, these 3 songs would be only a small sample of what was to come. After listening to "Consumed by Oblivion" proceed directly to the Atavisma split and then the full length, face-melting "Descending Pillars," where some serious shit goes down. bcb723
An ambitious, yet tightly executed, death metal debut that trades in crushing riffs, funereal effects, and even the odd Shakespeare quote. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 25, 2023
A foreboding black-doom metal dirge, meditating on a dark world caked in ash, resulting from all the Earth’s nuclear arsenal detonating at once. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jun 14, 2018

I'm kicking my own ass for somehow missing this when it released. Expertly arranged death metal with kick drums that could demolish a high-rise. zirtonic
